Overview
Track attendance, excuses, rsvp's, guests, and sync with external calendars
Introduction
With Greek Connect's Calendar, your fraternity or sorority can always stay up to date with your events. From chapter meetings to philanthropy events to formals, officers can create events, share them with the chapter, and handle attendance, sign ups, and guests.
Members can also sync their personal calendar with Google Calendar or iCal, so that they have all their upcoming events in one spot. You can even sync event attendance with the built-in points system for easier record keeping.
Best Practices
- Stay consistent: When creating recurring events (such as chapter meetings), make sure to keep excuse deadlines and notifications consistent, that way members can know what to expect.
- Pass on ownership: While executive officers usually add all the events for the upcoming semester ahead of time, once other chapter officers are selected it is best to transfer event ownership. You can do this by clicking next to the owner of the event.
- Share links: While it may be easiest to ask members to find the event in the calendar themselves when sending out communications, taking the extra time to attach the event (or share the link) helps prevent miscommunication. You can learn how to attach calendar events to message conversations here.
- Details details details: Providing as much detail as possible for each event prevents miscommunication and allows members to get excited about what's to come. Try to provide an itinerary for formal add the link to the school page for the event.
- Everyone needs reminders: Adding notifications to an event decreases the likelihood of members forgetting last minute. Try adding an event start notification about 30 minutes ahead of time for important events.
